Historical Overview
Founded in 1361-1362 CE (763 AH) by Sabiq al-Din Mithqal. Registered as monument No. 45, this ‘hanging’ madrasa (built over a passageway and storerooms) follows a classic four-iwan plan surrounding a central courtyard. It is also known as Al-Madrasa al-Sabiqiyya.
