Historical Overview

Built in 1362 CE (764 AH) by Tankizbugha bin Abdullah al-Husami al-Nasiri. Also officially known as Jami' al-Tankiziya, this is a distinct funerary dome in the Eastern Mamluk Cemetery, separate from another mausoleum bearing a similar name in the Southern Cemetery.
