Visit the Zawiya of Sultan Faraj ibn Barquq, also known as Zawiya al-Duhaysha, an early 15th-century monument facing Bab Zuweila.

Historical Overview

Constructed in 1408 CE (811 AH) by Sultan al-Nasir Faraj ibn Barquq. It includes a zawiya and an attached sabil, and is distinctly separate from his funerary complex in the Northern Cemetery.

A beautifully situated Circassian Mamluk zawiya right across from the iconic Bab Zuweila.
