Discover the 14th-century Bahri Mamluk Hall of Muhibb al-Din al-Muwaqqi' (Hall of Uthman Katkhuda) in Cairo.
Historical Overview
Built in 1350 CE (751 AH) by Muhibb al-Din al-Muwaqqi' al-Shafi'i. Although it is a single hall (qa'a) rather than a complete house, it survives as a major independent registered monument (Reg. 50). It is officially aliased as Qal'at Uthman Katkhuda and has been included in recent state illumination projects.
