Historical Overview

A Mamluk funerary dome located in the Eastern Cemetery. While officially cataloged as 'Qubbat Khadija Umm al-Ashraf' (dated 845 AH), historical research suggests it may actually be the tomb of the Banu al-Ji'an family built around 1451 CE (855 AH) by Qadi Majd al-Din Abd al-Rahman bin al-Ji'an.
