Historical Overview
While the active mosque structure is heavily modernized and managed by the Ministry of Awqaf, it incorporates the original historic funerary dome (Reg. 59) built in 1567 CE (975 AH) which houses the shrine of the revered Sufi scholar Sidi Abd al-Wahhab al-Sha'rani.
