Historical Overview
Established in 1480 CE (885 AH) by Sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay. Officially registered as monument No. 9, this massive commercial inn (wikala) is located inside Bab al-Nasr and is distinct from his funerary and satellite monuments in the Northern Cemetery. Recent updates indicate that its extensive restoration is nearing completion.
