Historical Overview
Al-Maridani Mosque is organised around a rectangular open courtyard surrounded by arcades. Its architecture combines stone, marble, wood, stucco and decorative inlay. The mosque underwent a major rehabilitation programme carried out through cooperation between Egypt's antiquities authorities and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
