Historical Overview
The museum officially opened in 2019 inside the historic Takiya of Muhammad Bey Abu al-Dhahab. The collection includes Mahfouz's personal library as well as clothing, certificates, awards, medals, gifts, photographs and memorabilia—including material connected with his Nobel Prize.
