Historical Overview
The historic municipal library represents Alexandria’s modern civic and intellectual heritage. The previous description supplied an exact 1882 foundation story, mayoral attribution and architectural details that require stronger institutional documentation. It should not be conflated with the ancient Library of Alexandria.
