Discover the Temple of Kalabsha, a stunning ancient site in Aswan dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, showcasing remarkable architecture.

Historical Overview
The Temple of Kalabsha is one of the largest surviving temples of Lower Nubia. The principal standing sanctuary was begun in the early Roman period under Augustus and dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, incorporating and replacing earlier sacred structures. In the 1960s it was dismantled and reconstructed at New Kalabsha to save it from the waters of Lake Nasser.
