Historical Overview
Baron Empain Palace is one of Heliopolis’s most recognizable landmarks, built between 1907 and 1911 for Belgian industrialist Édouard Empain to designs by French architect Alexandre Marcel. Its highly distinctive exterior draws on Indian and Southeast Asian architectural motifs, while the palace’s tower, terraces and gardens became symbols of the new Heliopolis suburb. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities currently lists daily opening from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Why Visit?
