Cairo International Airport Museum — Terminal 2

The Cairo International Airport Museum in Terminal 2 was developed through cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Ministry of Civil Aviation as a cultural introduction for travelers using Cairo International Airport. The museum occupies roughly 100 square metres and presents selected objects that illustrate major phases of Egyptian history. Its displays include ancient Egyptian material together with Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern-era objects, allowing transit and arriving passengers to encounter a concise cross-section of Egypt’s cultural heritage without leaving the airport. The Terminal 2 museum was opened alongside the expanded Terminal 3 museum as part of a wider effort to place archaeology and museum interpretation directly within major airport gateways. Because the museum sits inside a working airport terminal, it is best understood as a compact cultural stop for travelers rather than a destination museum on the scale of the Egyptian Museum or GEM.
