Cairo International Airport Museum — Terminal 3

The Cairo International Airport Museum in Terminal 3 began in 2016 and was later moved and expanded in 2020 to a larger space of about 150 square metres. The museum was designed as an introduction to Egyptian civilization for passengers arriving, departing or transiting through Cairo International Airport. Its collection presents objects from across Egyptian history, beginning with ancient Egyptian periods and continuing through Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern times. The expanded museum includes material drawn from major collections in Cairo and elsewhere and was conceived as a cultural gateway that can encourage travelers to explore Egypt’s larger archaeological and museum landscape. Its location inside Terminal 3 means the visit is compact and convenient rather than immersive, but the 24-hour schedule makes it unusually accessible for passengers on early, late or connecting flights.
