Historical Overview

Khayrbak's funerary foundation dates to the early sixteenth century. The larger ensemble incorporates earlier and later structures, covering roughly 8,000 m². Restoration of the Khayrbak complex became one of the major conservation projects associated with the rehabilitation of Darb al-Ahmar.
