Wikala of al-Ghuri
Enter one of Cairo's finest surviving merchant caravanserais, where goods were stored around a monumental courtyard and travelling merchants lodged in upper rooms screened with traditional mashrabiyya windows.
Al-Ghuriyya / Historic Cairo

Historical Overview
The wikala consists of a rectangular open courtyard surrounded by a ground floor and four upper floors. The lower levels were used for storing merchants' goods, while the upper levels contained lodging units for travelling merchants. The record contains older operating information, but current tickets and opening hours should be checked against a dated authoritative source before travel. Do not rely on legacy prices or schedules as current facts.
